Let’s be honest—most people won’t read an article titled “Why You Should Get a Colonoscopy.”But they will watch a ridiculous video with a guy in a cape yelling about his intestines.
That’s exactly the point.
This March 19th, there’s a FREE Colon Cancer Screening event in Chicago, and we’re doing everything we can to make sure the people who need it know about it—and more importantly, go.
And if that means dressing up a colon in sunglasses and writing comedy sketches about poop jokes?Well… we’re in.
👨⚕️ The Doctor Who Said “Let’s Make It Funny”
This campaign comes straight from the passion and brilliance of Dr. Andrew Albert, a nationally recognized Chicago-based gastroenterologist who’s spent years fighting to make colon cancer screening accessible, normalized, and talked about.
Instead of shaming or scaring people into it, Dr. Albert took a different route:He teamed up with comedian and filmmaker Brett Walkow and the creative minds at HappyTown Fundraisers to build a video series that’s equal parts hysterical and helpful.
🎬 Watch the New Video—And Then Share the Heck Out of It
This newest video in the campaign is… well, let’s just say you’ve never seen a public health announcement like this. It’s short. It’s funny. And most importantly—it works.
Because people don’t tune out humor. They lean in.They laugh. They listen.
And sometimes, one weird, hilarious video is all it takes to push someone to finally make the appointment that saves their life.
💬 What Can You Do?
Seriously—it takes 10 seconds to make a difference right now.
✅ Watch the video✅ Share it on your feed or story✅ Text it to “that one friend” who keeps saying they’ll go next year✅ Visit www.BackOffColonCancer.org for full screening info
We don’t need thousands of dollars. We just need your voice. Your post. Your reach. That’s how lives get saved.
🩺 Comedy + Care = Impact
At HappyTown Fundraisers, we believe the best campaigns are the ones people actually pay attention to. So we use laughter to create emotional connection—and then deliver the message loud and clear.
Led by Brett Walkow, a nationally recognized comedian and event host, and fueled by the mission of Dr. Andrew Albert, this campaign is a perfect example of what happens when purpose and comedy collide.
It’s not just entertainment. It’s education that actually reaches people.
