Today was one of those days that reminds you what life is really about.

I spent the day at two different hospitals, and while the settings were clinical, the feeling in the air was anything but. We were on a mission to save lives. But not just with information—we brought laughter, joy, and a little bit of ridiculousness, too.

Because sometimes the best way to reach someone’s heart… is through a laugh.

👨‍⚕️ The Heroes in the Halls

Hospitals are full of people who give everything they’ve got—not because it’s easy, but because they care. Deeply. And today, I was surrounded by these extraordinary human beings. Nurses, doctors, administrators, support staff—all working together with one shared purpose: healing.

It’s the kind of energy that humbles you. And inspires you.

🙌 Grateful to Do This Work with Incredible People

I wasn’t alone in this mission. I was honored to walk those hospital halls alongside Dr. Andrew Albert, who is not only a brilliant gastroenterologist but a passionate leader in the fight against colon cancer. His advocacy for early detection is saving lives every single day.

I also had the joy of teaming up with the always-amazing Karen Albaum of the Extra Wide Sock Company, a partner in this campaign whose dedication to health, accessibility, and comfort is matched only by her heart.

Together, we formed an unlikely but unstoppable team:A doctor, a sock expert, and a comedian. And somehow, it worked beautifully.

🧪 Why This Matters So Much

Here’s the truth: By 2030, colon cancer is projected to become the leading cause of cancer-related death for people over 50.

But here’s the other truth:It’s the most preventable cancer—if you get screened early.

That’s what this entire campaign is about. One simple test can change everything. And if a silly joke, a warm smile, or a shared moment of humor can push someone to take that step? Then every second of this work is worth it.

💬 What You Can Do Right Now

If you’re reading this, I’m asking you—please:

  • 👉 Get tested

You matter. Your health matters. Let’s make sure you're here for all the birthdays, holidays, belly laughs, and late-night snacks still to come.

🎭 Powered by Comedy, Compassion & Collaboration

This campaign is part of a larger initiative from HappyTown Fundraisers, where we believe that comedy and community can drive change. Led by Brett Walkow, our mission is to bring humor, storytelling, and real heart to causes that need a louder voice.

We’re proud to stand with Dr. Andrew Albert, Karen Albaum, and Extra Wide Sock Company in this vital mission to raise awareness, spark conversations, and save lives—one laugh, one test, and one share at a time.
